Events
We arrange tasting events and collaborations. We offer forager tea events as well as bespoke wild and fermented food tasting events adapted to your special needs and occasions.
Forager Tea Tasting
Our wild plants’ tea tasting is a cosy and sensuous, yet educative journey into the plentiful world of Estonian tea and edible wild plants.
During the event, we will take a closer look at the plants we will be tasting – their origin, effect and foraging customs – as well as talk more broadly about the rich foraging culture of Estonia.
Meanwhile, a warm infusion with the discussed plants is being prepared and we will taste a refreshing cup of local “tea” made with Estonian wild plants.
The wild plants’ tea tasting is a format that can be comfortably tailored around your specific needs by either coming to your location or event.
Wild plants’ tea tasting lasts about 1 hour. Contact us for details on price, location and dates. Our events suit best for groups around 15 people or less. We can come to the location suitable for your group or we can propose our own location options. Generally there are no special conditions required for our events.

Tate Modern REAAC Dinner
Paju villa, Tallinn (2018)
Metsik Toit held a wild plant’s tea tasting for the TATE REAAC dinner organised by the Estonian Contemporary Art Development Center (ECADC). Metsik Toit served two bespoke seasonal herbal tea infusions and a refreshing oolong kombucha flavoured with the local seasonal plants.
Kai Art Centre Pre-Opening
Noblessner, Tallinn (2019)
Metsik Toit organised a special Ivan Chai (fermented fireweed) tea tasting for the guests who had been asked to come to celebrate the opening of the new art centre KAI. For this special occasion, we created a special Ivan Chai blend where the deep taste of fermented fireweed created the perfect base for sweet, tangy, sour and bitter notes from meadowsweet, wild raspberry leaves, rowanberries and common mugwort. We also designed and prepared gift packages with this special tea blend to be given to the artists and organisers responsible for the opening exhibition.
Welement Factory Opening
Tartu (2017)
For the opening of the modern prefabricated timber construction factory Welement, we prepared welcome drinks and appetizers inspired by fresh wild food and quality products from the area. When creating the food for the event, we wished to emphasise Welement’s inevitable connection with its raw material and the latter’s place of origin - the wood, the forest and nature. Thus among others, ramson, linden and black currant leaves as well as moss and spruce sprouts were used to create a memorable gastronomic experience for the guests.
Metsik Toit also offers various workshops. Have a look at what we have for you:
